A Mom and her Boy - Anna & Cristiano

As I get closer to my due date (December 2), I can feel this little guy kicking and stretching and exploring the tiny space that is his whole world. It's hard to imagine in just over 3 weeks, I'll get to meet my son. I find I'm intrigued now by the friends I see who have sons. I study their relationships, how their little boys play and interact, and try to imagine what's to come.

When I agreed to do a photo shoot for Anna and her son, Cristiano, I wasn't sure what to expect as far as how active this little boy would be for the photos. And he was active. He just wanted to toddle around and explore and his little wide eyes were just darting around all over the place. Capturing still shots was a little bit of a challenge but I loved it. I loved the little adventurous nature of Cris. I loved watching him toddle around the yard like a little old man, his balance slightly off, and his little mouth gaping as he took in the world around him. But what I loved most was capturing his relationship with his mom, Anna. You can see these two have something special. And it was a beautiful thing to capture those moments.

So I just wanted to share some of my favourite photos from the shoot. Enjoy.

"As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen." - Winnie the Pooh
"Sometimes," said Pooh, "the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.
"Children are not things to be moulded, but people to be unfolded." - Jess Lair
"So there's this boy. He kinda stole my heart. He calls me Mom." -Anon
"You'll be his first kiss, his first love, his first friend. You are his momma and he is your whole world. He is your little boy."
"Happy is the son whose faith in his mother remains unchallenged." - Louisa May Alcott
"For any child, LIFE remains a sea full of rich experiences just waiting to be explored."                        - Natan Gendelman
"Don't worry. Be happy."
"Close to my heart, never to part, baby of mine."
"A child has a special way of adding joy to every day."

"Moms hold their children's hands for awhile, their hearts forever."
"Such a BIG miracle in such a little boy."
I love the photo below - it captures their relationship perfectly.
"There is a no way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be a good one."
From our short time together, it was easy to tell that little Cris loved his mom to the moon and back. And what a beautiful mom she is.

Thanks Anna and little Cris for letting me capture these sweet moments between you both. I can't wait to have adventures with my little guy.
